About Me

Building Solid Ventures around Products with High Patient Value

I am a strategic leader able to drive the growth of medtech companies and products that make a significant positive difference in people's lives.
In everything I do, I combine the rigorous thinking and analytical methodology from my natural sciences background with the long-term vision of a founder mindset and the skills of a process and organization-oriented, leader and board member.

In my seven years of board membership, I have worked with top MedTech leaders in robotic surgery, neuromodulation and regenerative medicine, balancing the needs and interests of all corporate stakeholders. I am a proven team-builder and team-player, unafraid of taking on new challenges.

In my founder experience, starting from an original idea, I was instrumental in delivering a unique new robotics product to hospitals in a company that grew to one hundred employees in 6 years. In the course of this I secured capital of over EUR 40M from Angel investors, VC funds and non-dilutive funding, from initial outreach and pitches through term sheets, due diligence, investment docs and closings. My passions are strategically building products and companies by identifying clinical needs that represents a unique market opportunity using a strong data-backed approach.

I have driven product development and company growth while working hand-in-hand with the community of physician and patient end-users. I am a German and US national and have lived and worked in California, Germany, Great Britain and Italy, gaining a unique multicultural experience allowing me to work effectively with teams internationally.

Key Achievements

Surgical Robotics

  • Co-founder, Board Member and VP Clinical Development & Medical Affairs at MMI Inc. until Nov. 2021.

  • Instrumental in defining product-market fit and validating it with the user community.

  • Hired and lead a team of Clinical Engineers to drive MMI's product development from a Clinical standpoint, coordinating with surgeon end-users on product specifications, device validation and definition of clinical applications based on surgical and market metrics .

  • Design and execute Clinical Strategy for First Indication (Reconstructive Surgery) with internal and external stakeholders, from First-in-human (MDD/MDR) to PMCF (MDD/MDR) and FDA study design.

Neurotech

  • Strategic Development of New Indication, reporting to CEO.

  • Development of new therapies in psychiatry, neurology and neuromodulation.

  • Support of the strategic choice of indication and development of a new indication of an implantable neurotechnology.

  • Market sizing and reimbursement analysis by geography and indication.

  • Strategic KOL network development.

  • Development of Business Case for investment in developing the indication.

  • Clinical study design, development, submission and approval in collaboration with CRO and KOLs.

  • Device design and development from concept through to V&V with internal R&D team and external suppliers.
